"The first bi-lateral conference between the Pathfinder Foundation (PF) and National Maritime Foundation (NMF) focused on developing a platform for analytical and innovative discussion, specifically on Maritime Security and Maritime Domain Awareness covering the Indian Ocean, which would favourably impact countries in the Indian Ocean Region, was held in Colombo last week. Admiral R.K. Dhowan with Directors of NMF, Admiral Jayanath Colombage, Director, Centre for Indo-Lanka Initiatives at PF with Chairman Bernard Goonetilleke and key resource personalities presented papers of the conference.
The Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of the National University of Singapore in collaboration with the Pathfinder Foundation conducted a Joint symposium on the Belt and Road Initiative. The Joint Symposium was inaugurated by Chairman of ISAS Ambassador-at-Large Gopinath Pillai, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore.
The Pathfinder Foundation launched the Sinhala translation of Dr. Raja C. Mohan’s book “Samudra Manthan: Sino-Indian Rivalry in the Indo-Pacific” on 23rd January 2018 at Sequel Room, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. Citing a tale from Hindu mythology—Samudra Manthan or “Churning the Ocean”—Dr. Raja C. Mohan relates the story of Sino-Indian rivalry spilling over from the Great Himalayas into the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
The Pathfinder Foundation, together with an Australian delegation led by the National Security College at the Australian National University and Carnegie India held a one-day Track II trilateral conference titled ‘Colombo Dialogue: Emerging Dialogue in the Indian Ocean - Regional Cooperation on Maritime Domain Awareness’ at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo.
The Pathfinder Foundation and China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) launched a joint publication titled "THE ISLAND OF THE LION AND THE LAND OF THE DRAGON". This CICIR-Pathfinder joint publication consists of academically enriched articles by both Sri Lankan and Chinese experts in their respective fields focusing on different facets of Sri Lanka and China relations. This treatise is published as a contribution to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China and in addition to the 65th anniversary of the "Rubber-Rice Pact".

"The Centre for Indo-Lanka Initiatives (CILI) of the Pathfinder Foundation conducted a two-day round table discussion on Blue Economy with the Vivekanada International Foundation, in New Delhi. The focus of the discussion was guided by the theme, “Sustainable Exploitation of Marine Resources”.
Pathfinder Foundation convened 'Trincomalee Consultations', a two-day conference participated by countries in the Bay of Bengal, which are dependent on the bay for their trade and other interactions. The conference was attended by India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka. Japan and Norway also took part in the deliberations which were held in Cinnamon Grand, Colombo on 16 and 17 February 2017.
